Kid Brushing Teeth
Reading can be beneficial for children on multiple levels. In fact, The Washington Post reports that reading aloud to your kids is one of the most important things you can do for them. It can help little ones better understand the world around them and feel a greater sense of empathy for others. It can also inspire them to want to learn how to read themselves.

Some books can even inspire children to take better care of their teeth. Consider reading these books on dental care to your children. Books on dental care are sure to teach your children something new about brushing their teeth and otherwise establishing good dental care habits. The less of a mystery dental care is to kids, the easier they can embrace it.

1. Brush, Brush, Brush!
Brush, Brush, Brush! by Alicia Padron is a board book for young children between the ages of one and three. It's told in very simple prose. The book is also so catchy and rhythmic that you may catch yourself singing it aloud to your children instead of reading it.
Brush, Brush, Brush! walks young readers through the step-by-step process of brushing their teeth. That can be especially helpful for little kids who feel overwhelmed by the task. The cheerful illustrations make brushing one's teeth look easy and fun. Look for the note to parents at the end of the book that suggests activities that are linked to the theme of the story.

2. Curious George Visits the Dentist
Generations of children have adored the Curious George books, and it's easy to see why. Created by Hans Augusto Rey and Margaret Rey, Curious George is a character who helps children embrace their natural sense of curiosity. In Curious George Visits the Dentist, George learns all about the exciting aspects of going to the dentist. It's for kids between the ages of four and seven.
The story follows George as he accidentally bites into a wax apple. When he goes to the dentist to get treatment for the loose tooth, he is scared at first, but then gets excited to learn all about what goes on at the dentist's office. Although it does show Curious George fearful at first, it ultimately shows the character having a positive experience and feeling eager to learn more.

3. Brush Your Teeth, Please: A Pop-up Book
Written by Leslie McGuire and illustrated by Jean Pidgeon, Brush Your Teeth, Please: A Pop-up Book is listed for children between the ages of two and five. However, the fun pop-up illustrations and helpful information may appeal to kids outside that age range, too.
In Brush Your Teeth, Please: A Pop-up Book, young readers will delight in seeing a variety of different animals taking terrific care of their teeth. Imagine a whale who flosses and a bear who is careful to brush his teeth just right. The American Dental Association News referred to this book as the fun side of helping kids develop positive oral care habits

4. Maisy, Charley, and the Wobbly Tooth
Maisy, Charley, and the Wobbly Tooth by Lucy Cousins is best for children between the ages of two and five. A crocodile named Charley is nervous about his first visit to see a dentist, but Maisy the mouse helps him discover that there is nothing to fear. In fact, it can even be fun!
In Maisy, Charley, and the Wobbly Tooth, Charley, Maisy, and their friends discover that sometimes dentists do x-rays to best help their patients. The animals also get a lesson on brushing their teeth. It's an overall positive book that can pique children's interest in dental care and going to the dentist's office.

Finally, keep in mind that these are just a few of the books available about dental care for your children. Cultivate a nice selection of books on dental care to encourage positive teeth-cleaning habits. Also, be sure to take your children for regular dental check-ups and cleanings.
